Being positive

I am a half glass full sort of person, I always look for the positive side of everything. I have had a great deal of unexpectedly sad things occur in my life in the last five years, and I still have been able to remain a positive person. Therefore I am sick and tired of reading negative, “shoot the tall poppy” articles in the local papers. It is time for Hawkes Bay residents to support each other when attempts are made to provide more employment or sporting opportunities for our young people. The Regional Sports Park will provide the chance for many of Hawkes Bay’s youth to try new sports, such as track cycling, on bikes sponsored by local businessess. There may be a prospective champion, as I write this, at one of the HB schools. Come on Tom, look at the positive side for once and stop your moaning.

I agree: positive thinking is vital for progress. And from the perspective of a health professional, I would think in this era of increasing childhood obesity that any opportunity to promote youth exercise would be greatly encouraged.
